Birding Sessions

Birders have two main ways of creating content on Birda:

One-off Sightings

For example you might see something while out and about, perhaps on your way to the train station. Casual birders like to use this feature to highlight something that they couldnt identify, or were especially proud of.

Birding Sessions

This is for when a birder is explictly going birding, and is intended to work like Strava's activty tracker. The birder starts the session, and then logs all their sightings as they go. Once complete, they can add extra information like notes about their session and photos of the scenery or themselves.

You can find the designs for this feature  here .

Our users have been having some problems with the feature...

It was confusing, I didn't know where I was supposed to add bird photos, and where to add selfies

My sightings dissappear as soon as I log them

I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do on the review screen. It’s very busy!

We feel like the review screen is especially problematic, and we aren't sure what the solution is. Perhaps we could split it into a few screens, but then users may get bored, or miss features hidden behind a button? Either way, we need your help! We also aren’t entirely happy with how the session summary is displayed in the main feed so if you’ve got any bright ideas we’d love to hear them!

Please have a think about ways we could improve this flow and we'll discuss them when we meet. It would also be great to hear about what your first month would look like. What hun you'd like to achieve and what your process would be.
